  I hate to break the news to you, but this situation is not mutually exclusive to JW's.

  Everyone on this planet has been raised by parents who were victims of their parents, who were victims of their parents, and so on.

  I suffered alot of emotional trauma when I was a child, and tried to bring my child up in a better way, which I did.

  My child does not see it that way, because she has no reference point.

  In other words, she did not experience MY childhood, so she has nothing to compare her 'better life' to.

  i thought of this while working on my book project, and i realized i don't have a good answer.

  why is the jw leadership so intent on conformity in all areas of everyone's lives?

  lots of things they regulate have no religious significance.

  Think about the different situations that have occured in your life. You were either bullied, or you were the bully.

  There is a line in the movie "The Good, the bad, and the Ugly" uttered by Tuco which sums it up well. "There are two types of people in the world my friend. Those who get hung, and those who do the hanging".

  i am thinking along the lines of socialising:.

  how easy is it for you to "switch off" and just enjoy the evening, without starting to think "okay- she is a borderline alcoholic, he's prolly gay, that one has multiple personality disorder, he is entering a psychotic episode, and she always starts fugueing after too much wine.".

  can you ever see your friends and fambly as just people, or do you have to make a conscious effort to switch off and enjoy yourself.

  some would inadvertently go to a fortune tellers door and have a demonic experience.. i was always facinated by all the stories.

  Do you really think these gentlemen are interested in what you have to say in defending your beliefs?

  They have come from where you are and already know what you believe.

  They want you to come around to THEIR beliefs.
